Saturday afternoon, the Oklahoma State Cowboys will face the South Carolina Gamecocks.
The Oklahoma State Cowboys remained undefeated as they ran over the North Texas Mean Green 87 – 61 on Wednesday night. North Texas wasn’t expected to offer much opposition to Oklahoma State and they really didn’t. The Cowboys showed the Mean Green that they weren’t that mean at all as they took a 42 -30 lead at the half. The Cowboys didn’t let up in the 2nd half as they improved their record to 7 – 0. Oklahoma State dominated on both ends of the floor as they outshot and out-rebounded North Texas. The Cowboys shot 52% overall and 40% from beyond the arc as they were led by Phil Forte and his career high 32 point effort. If Oklahoma State turns in another solid performance like the one in their last game, South Carolina will have their hands full.
The South Carolina Gamecocks didn’t have their hands full in their last game as they beat the Marshall Thundering Herd 77 -59 on Monday night. The Gamecocks put the game out of reach early with a 15 -3 run to open the game. Marshall was never able to close the game as South Carolina went to the locker room at the half up 39 -20. The Gamecocks maintained their double digit lead the rest of the way thanks to Marshall’s poor shooting. The Thundering Herd shot just 285 overall as the Gamecocks shot 47%. South Carolina was paced by Duane Notice and is career-high 27 point effort. The Gamecocks have a tougher opponent on the slate and will need to jump out to another big lead and hold onto it if they want the win.
