The Oklahoma State Cowboys will try to get back on the winning track on Saturday night when they visit the Memphis Tigers. The Cowboys and the Tigers played each other twice last season, with both teams picking up one win.
Oklahoma State lost their first game of the season last weekend when South Carolina routed them 75-49 on the road. The Cowboys had a very bad shooting night in that loss, making just 24.6 percent of their field goals.
The Cowboys are currently near the top of the country in blocks and steals per game, and they have only given up 58.4 points per game. Their go-to player through eight games has been senior forward Le'Bryan Nash, who is averaging 17.6 points and 7.1 rebounds per game this season.
Memphis played their best all-around game last Saturday when they easily defeated Bradley 73-45 on their home court. Their defense forced 20 turnovers in that win and were able to hold Bradley to a low 27.1 field goal percentage.
Through their first six games of the season, the Tigers have only averaged 62.8 points per game while making just 42.1 percent of their shots. Junior forward Shaq Goodwin has made 59 percent of his shots this season and is currently averaging 11.8 points and seven rebounds per game. Sophomore forward Austin Nichols has scored 10.2 points per game while blocking 3.2 shots per game.
