Monday night, the Oakland Golden Grizzlies will face the Clemson Tigers. 

The Oakland Golden Grizzlies took an 81 -77 overtime loss to the Pittsburgh Panthers on Saturday afternoon.  The Golden Grizzlies had a battle on their hands early as they traded shots with the Panthers for most of the 1st half.  Even after Oakland seemed to pull away towards the end of the half, Pitt closed the distance and it was just a 1 point Oakland lead at the half.  The teams resumed the battle in the 2nd half and once again, after Oakland pulled away, Pittsburgh closed the gap to force overtime.  In OT, the Panthers had just enough left to slip past the Golden Grizzlies.  Oakland shot 46% from the field (the same as Pittsburgh) as they were led by Kahlil Felder’s 23 points.  Oakland will try to end their 3 game slide against a Clemson team that is also coming off a loss.

The Clemson Tigers struggled mightily on Friday night as they fell to the South Carolina Gamecocks 68 - 45.  Clemson led early on but the shots stopped dropping for them and South Carolina took over.  Clemson rallied back to take a slim 2 point lead at the half but they couldn’t hold on in the 2nd half.  The Tigers maintained the lead early in the 2nd half but the Gamecocks were the better team as the game drew to a close. Clemson shot a dismal 29% from the field and 22% from beyond the arc as they were paced by Jason Blossomgame and his 14 point effort.  The Tigers will need to shake off their poor shooting performance in Friday’s game if they want to pick up the win on Monday.
