Sunday afternoon, the Northern Colorado Bears will face the Colorado State Rams.

The Northern Colorado Bears faced very little resistance from their last opponents, the Florida A&M Rattlers and that led to a 95 - 56 victory.  Florida A&M had a chance in this one for about a few minutes.  Then Northern Colorado broke the game open with a 19 – 0 run.  At the half, the Bears were up 48 – 26 and they continued to pour it on in the 2nd half.  The Bears shot 57% from the field and 44% from 3-point distance as they were led by Drew Bender and his 14 points.  Northern Colorado should expect more competition from Colorado State and they will need the same type of effort that they displayed against Florida A&M.

The Colorado State Rams had a much closer game their last time out and they escaped with a 65 – 62 win over the UTEP Miners. The game was close for the beginning of the 1st half but by the midway point, Colorado St. started to pull away. The Rams led by 15 at one point but were up by just 5 at the half.  UTEP stayed step for step with Colorado St. in the 2nd half and although the Miners never led, they gave the Rams quite a scare.  The Rams shot 48% overall and 46% from beyond the arc as they were led by J.J. Avila’s 20 point effort.  The Rams will try to remain undefeated as they try to get past the Bears.
