On Feb. 20, the number 5 ranked Duke Blue Devils went to Chapel Hill to face the North Carolina Tar Heels. This game was rescheduled from a week earlier due to bad weather but the heat of this rivalry couldn't be held down for long. North Carolina was 7-2 against ranked teams at home before this game started and both of those losses game against the Blue Devils. On this night however, Marcus Paige and the Tar Heels were going to put an end to that.
Jabari Parker had the Blue Devils playing well in the first half. Duke went into the half with a 37-30 lead. Parker had 10 points and five rebounds in the first half. He ended the game with 17 points, 11 rebounds, one assist, one steal and two blocks.
The second half of this game was a different story. The game was tied going into four minutes left in the game when Marcus Paige and the Tar Heels put the game away for good and out scored the Blue Devils by 15 in the second half. Paige finished the night with 13 points and four assists but nobody was better than him down the stretch. North Carolina also got a big game out of Leslie McDonald who finished with 21 points, four rebounds, an assist and a block.
Just like the history of this series, games against the spread have been close as well. Over the last 10 games between these two teams North Carolina has covered five times and Duke has covered in four. The Tar Heels have covered in three of the last four matchups and three of the last four times they've played at Duke.
Over their last 10 games, North Carolina is 10-0 straight up. However, they've lost ATS in their last three before running off seven straight wins ATS before that.
Duke hasn't played as well ATS and is 4-5-1 over the last 10 games they've played.
