The Missouri Tigers will head out on the road to take on the high-scoring Illinois Fighting Illini on Saturday afternoon. Last season, the Fighting Illini were able to edge the Tigers 65-64.

Missouri suffered their fifth loss of the year last Saturday when Xavier beat them 74-58. The Tigers could only make one of their 16 three-point attempts in that loss and were outrebounded 32-25.

Through 10 games this season, the Tigers are one of the worst assisting teams in the country by averaging just 10.3 team assists per game. Sophomore forward Johnathan Williams III is currently the team's top all-around performer by averaging 12.2 points and a team-best 6.2 rebounds per game. Freshman guard Montaque Gill-Caesar is second on the team in scoring right now by averaging 12.6 points per game.

On Wednesday night, Illinois snapped their two-game losing skid when they were able to blow out Hampton 73-55 at home. They didn't shoot the ball well in that game, but they made up for it by holding Hampton to a low 34.8 field goal percentage.

The Fighting Illini are in the top 25 in scoring this season by averaging nearly 80 points per game against their opponents. Senior guard Rayvonte Rice has scored a team-high 17.3 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.3 steals per game. Sophomore guard Malcolm Hill is also having a strong start to the year by averaging 13 points and 5.6 boards per game.
