The Penn State Nittany Lions will face the Minnesota Golden Gophers on Thursday in a first round matchup in the Big Ten Conference Tournament. Just a few days ago these two met up where the Golden Gophers rolled the Nittany Lions by almost 20 with a final of 81-63. DeAndre Mathieu led the way for the Golden Gophers with 16 points, three rebounds, six assists and three steals. He got help from Maurice Walker with 16 points, four rebounds, three assists, a steal and a block in a game the Gophers needed to keep their NCAA bid alive.

D.J. Newbill led the Nittany Lions with 24 points, a rebound and a steal. 15 of those points came in the second half but it wasn't enough to overcome the deficit. Tim Frazier chipped in with 14 points, three rebounds and two assists.

The Gophers jumped out to a 23-3 lead in this one and it was all Minnesota from there. The score was 38-24 at halftime. In the second half, the Golden Gophers came out firing and built the lead to 51-26 at one point. Penn State dwindled the lead down to nine but Minnesota stepped on the gas and hit clutch free throws down the stretch to finish out a perfect senior night for the Minnesota Golden Gophers.
