Wednesday afternoon, the Marquette Golden Eagles will face the DePaul Blue Demons.

The Marquette Golden Eagles won their 4th straight game on Sunday when they beat the Morgan State Bears 81 – 53.  Morgan State fell behind early after Marquette opened up on a 10 - 3 run.  The Bears tried to get back into the game but the Golden Eagles were just too much for them to handle.  Marquette took a 20 point lead into the locker rooms at the half and in the 2nd half, their lead was never seriously threatened.  The Golden Eagles hit 60% of their shots as they were led by Luke Fischer and his 15 point effort.  Marquette had 6 players in double digits and if they get that type of production on Wednesday, they will be hard to beat.

The DePaul Blue Demons dropped their 6th straight game on Christmas Day after they lost 72 - 69 to the Loyola Marymount Lions.  DePaul held their own in the 1st half but Loyola never the game get too far out of hand. At the half, DePaul was up by just 2 points.  DePaul extended the lead in the 2nd half but they couldn’t hold on to it as the game drew to a close.  A late surge by Loyola put the game just out of reach for DePaul and that led to the Lions breaking their own 6 game losing streak.  The Blue Demons shot just 41% overall as they were paced by Billy Garrett Jr. and his 16 points.  Things don’t look to promising for the Blue Demons as they open up play in the Big East Conference and it looks like there are some more losses on the horizon.
