Wednesday night, the Manhattan Jaspers will take on the Pittsburgh Panthers.

The Manhattan Jaspers fell just short in their Monday night game as they fell to the Rutgers Scarlet Knights 63 - 55.  Manhattan started of slow and that later came back to haunt them.  Rutgers took advantage of the rocky Manhattan start and by halftime the Scarlet Knights were up by 10 points.  The Jaspers came out of the locker room at halftime and played like a different team in the 2nd half.  They managed to close the gap to just 2 points but the Jaspers just couldn’t get past the Scarlet Knights.  Manhattan wasted 21 Rutgers turnovers and the Jaspers shot just 38% as they were led by Emmy Andujar and his 21 points.  Manhattan will try to avoid their 7th loss in 9 games as they face Pittsburgh.

The Pittsburgh Panthers earned a hard fought 58 - 54 victory over the St. Bonaventure Bonnies on Saturday afternoon. The game was tight in the 1st half and even after Pittsburgh built up a slight 6 point lead, St. Bonaventure quickly closed the gap. The Bonnies eventually took a 1 point lead at the half but they know it wasn’t safe.  The teams grinded out a tough 2nd half and it came down to a few key Pitt free throws late.  The Panthers know that they escaped with one after shooting just 40% from the field and 30% from beyond the arc.  Pittsburgh was led by Jaylen Artis and his 14 point effort.  The Panthers played strong defense and with a little more offense, they should be able to get past Manhattan.
