On Thursday night, the LSU Tigers will have a hard time picking up their third consecutive win as they have to face the #16 West Virginia Mountaineers.

LSU played a solid all-around game against Massachusetts on Tuesday and came away with an easy 82-60 win at home. They shot 53.8 percent from the field in that win and their defense was able to force 18 Massachusetts turnovers.

The Tigers have scored 74.4 points per game this season while giving up 67.1 points per game to their opponents. Sophomore forward Jordan Mickey has been their go-to player this season and is currently averaging 17.5 points, 10 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game. Jarell Martin is also having a solid season by averaging 15.9 points and 8.7 boards per game.

Last Saturday, West Virginia played excellent defense in their game against College of Charleston and rolled to an 86-57 home win. They shot 45.5 percent from their field in that game and they were able to force 18 turnovers.

Through seven games, the Mountaineers have been able to average 13.9 steals per game, which is the best rate in the country right now. Senior guard Juwan Staten has been the team's top scorer so far this season by averaging 15.1 points per game. Sophomore forward Devin Williams is now averaging 11 points and a team-high 8.4 rebounds per game.
