On Feb. 15 of this year, the Florida Gators strolled into Rupp Arena to take on the Kentucky Wildcats and rolled out a winner. Florida was led by Casey Prather and Scottie Wilbekin. Prather finished the night with 24 points, four rebounds, an assist and four steals. Wilbekin also had a big night with 23 points, three rebounds, two assists and a steal.
Combined, the two helped lead the Gators past the Wildcats after being down three at the halfway mark. They were still trailing with almost 11 minutes left in the game when the Gators turned to Prather and Wilbekin. Patric Young also had a solid performance with 10 points and five rebounds. He had two three point plays down the stretch that helped the Gators to a 13-3 run that ended the hopes of the Wildcats. There were seven ties and six lead changes in the first half but Florida shot 60 percent in the second half and outscored Kentucky 41-28, putting them away for good. Florida tied a school record with their 17th straight win.
Kentucky was led by Andrew Harrison who tallied 20 points, four rebounds and four assists in the loss. Julius Randle finished with 19 points, 13 rebounds, and two assists.
Florida had played well against the spread when matched up against Kentucky. Over their last 10 meetings, the Gators are 6-4 ATS.
Over their last 10 games of the season, Kentucky is 4-6 ATS and haven't covered in five of their last six. Florida, on the other hand, has covered in two straight and is 5-5 ATS over their last 10 games winning every one of these games straight up. Florida is most definitely a hot team against the spread right now but when these two teams play, anything can happen.
