Wednesday afternoon, the Indiana Hoosiers will take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers. 

The Indiana Hoosiers saw their 3 game win streak come to an end on Saturday after they were defeated by the Georgetown Hoyas 91 - 87 in overtime.  The 1st half was a tight, tense battle for most of the way with neither team willing to give an inch.  The Hoosiers finally got control in the final 5 minutes and they took a 10 point lead into the locker rooms at the half.  Indiana held on to the lead until the midway point of the 2nd half when Georgetown began to mount a rally. The final minutes were another back and forth battle with Indiana needing a three-pointer to send the game to overtime.  Unfortunately for the Hoosiers, they never regained the lead again.  Indiana shot 45% overall and 41% from 3-point distance as they were led by Yogi Ferrell and his 27 points.  Indiana will need to maintain the intensity throughout the entire game on Wednesday if they want to get past Nebraska.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers beat the Ohio Bobcats 71 - 58 on Christmas Day for their 2nd straight victory.  Nebraska opened the game on a 10 – 2 run but Ohio wasn’t fazed.  The Bobcats slowly and steadily climbed back into the game and the Cornhuskers took just a 2 point lead into the locker rooms at the half.  The lead never seemed safe in the early stages of the 2nd half and it wasn’t until the final minutes of the game that Nebraska finally pulled away for good.  The Cornhuskers shot just 45% overall and 26% from the distance as they were paced by the 20 point efforts of Terran Petteway and Shavon Shields.   Conference play will be tough for Nebraska if they have to play as hard as they did against Ohio.
