On Tuesday afternoon, the Illinois Fighting Illini will face the Michigan Wolverines.

The Illinois Fighting Illini faced little opposition in their last game on Saturday as they easily dispatched the Kennesaw State Owls 93 - 45. The rout was on early as the Illini opened up on a 7 - 0 run. The Owls responded and kept pace with the Illini for a few minutes but they could hold on forever and Illinois eventually overpowered Kennesaw State. At the half, Illinois was up 54 - 18. Kennesaw State didn't take as big a beating in the 2^nd half but they were so far behind that it really didn't matter. Rayvonte Rice led the way for Illinois with 21 points as the Illini shot 55% overall. The completion will be a lot stronger for Illinois on Tuesday and they will need a stronger effort to get past Michigan.

The Michigan Wolverines ended their 4 game losing streak on December 22^nd after they beat the Coppin State Eagles 72 - 56. The Wolverines jumped out to the early lead after starting things with a 21 - 3 run. The beating continued for the remainder of the 1^st half and Michigan went to the locker rooms at the half up 42 - 26. The points didn't come as easily for Michigan in the 2^nd half but they had such a huge lead that Coppin State just didn't have enough left to really compete. The Wolverines were paced by Ricky Doyle's career high 16 points as they shot 47% from the field. That win should give the Wolverines confidence as they open up conference play against Illinois.
