The IUPUI Jaguars will go on the road to take on a very tough opponent in the Purdue Boilermakers on Sunday afternoon.

In their opener against Indiana State on Friday, IUPUI couldn't get their shots to go down in the overtime and ended up taking a 79-66 loss. They had 16 team turnovers in that loss and they only ended up shooting 35 percent from the field.

The Jaguars' top player in that opening loss was forward DavRon Williams, who had six points and a team-high 11 rebounds. Junior guard Marcellus Barksdale had 12 points in that game, but he was only able to make two of his 12 field goal attempts. Guard P.J. Boutte should see more minutes in future games after coming off of the bench to score nine points and grab six rebounds against Indiana State.

Purdue had an easy time taking care of Samford in their opening game on Friday as they came away with an 80-40 home win. They made nine of their 21 three-pointers in that win, and they finished with an excellent 55.3 field goal percentage. They were also great on the boards in that game by outrebounding Samford 45-34.

Boilermakers forward Vince Edwards played well against Samford by scoring 13 points and grabbing eight rebounds. Center Isaac Haas came off of the bench to score 11 points and grab eight boards, while starting center A.J. Hammons had five points and four blocks in the win.
