On Friday night, the George Washington Colonials will be playing possibly their toughest opponent of the season on Friday night when they visit the #9 Virginia Cavaliers.

George Washington got out to a big lead early in their game against Rutgers on Sunday and rolled to a 70-53 road win. They did well to take care of the ball in that game, finishing with just nine team turnovers.

George Washington has been very impressive on defense through their first two games by only giving up 46.5 points per game to their opponents. Sophomore guard Kethan Savage has had a good start to the year by averaging 15 points, eight rebounds and 4.5 assists per game. Forward Kevin Larsen has averaged 11 points and a team-high nine boards per game for the Colonials.

Virginia improved to 3-0 on Tuesday when they blew out South Carolina State 75-55 on their home court. They shot very well in that game, making 47.4 percent of their field goal attempts.

Through three games, the Cavaliers are in the top 20 in the country in points allowed by only giving up 48.3 points per game. Junior guard Justin Anderson is averaging 15.3 points per game with five rebounds per game. Big man Mike Tobey has scored 8.7 points per game so far this season and has made 62.5 percent of his shots.
