In a big game at Phog Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence Kansas on Friday night; the Florida Gators take on the Kansas Jayhawks. These two teams are both perennial contenders in both their conferences and in the national title picture. Florida has fallen out of the Associated Press Top 25, with a 3-3 record. For Kansas, their lone loss came to Kentucky. The Jayhawks are 5-1 overall and ranked 11th in the country.

Kansas is led by Perry Ellis, and his 15.8 points per game. The Jayhawks lost Andrew Wiggins, their leading scorer from a season ago to the NBA. Ellis is also grabbing 7 rebounds, along with freshman Cliff Alexander ripping down 6 per game. Kansas is scoring 69.2 points per game, which ranks 165th in the country. The Jayhawks have games at Georgetown and then back home against Utah, as well as a trip to Temple all remaining before Christmas.

The Florida Gators have struggled to open the 2014-2015 season. Billy Donovan saw a bunch of talent leave the program after last season, and he is trying to piece things together to be a contender in the SEC again. Florida has losses to Miami at home, and then neutral site defeats against Georgetown and North Carolina. The Gators leading scorer is Michael Frazier II, was he is scoring 15.2 points and grabbing 6.5 rebounds per game.
