Tuesday night, the Florida Gators will do battle against the Florida State Seminoles.

The Florida Gators notched their 4^th victory in a row after beating the Wake Forest Demon Deacons 63 - 50 on December 20^th. It was a tight game early on with Wake Forest taking a slim lead towards the midway point of the 1^st half. The lead didn't hold long as Florida took over to close out the half up by 9 points. Wake Forest closed the gap to just a point in the 2^nd half but Florida never surrendered the lead as they pulled away one last time to seal the win. The Gators made 41% of their shots while forcing 24 turnovers as they were led by Dorian Finney-Smith and his 16 point effort. A 5^th straight win on Tuesday is possible but it won't be easy.

The Florida State Seminoles got their 3^rd straight win on December 22^nd as they edged the Stetson Hatters 63 - 59. Stetson brought more fight than Florida State might have expected and that made it a closer contest than most people thought they would see. It was back and forth early on with the Hatters leading the Seminoles a few times during the 1^st half. Florida State had to battle to take a 3 point lead at the half. Stetson continued to be a fly in the ointment for Florida State in the 2^nd half. The Hatters were right there up until the end and they might have given the Seminoles a wakeup call. Florida State shot 46% from the field but just 18% from beyond the arc as Montay Brandon led the way with 17 points. Stetson might have warmed up Florida State for another tough game against Florida.
