On Monday night, the Elon Phoenix will be playing in the toughest matchup on their schedule when they visit the #2 Duke Blue Devils. Last season, Duke was able to blow out the Phoenix 86-48.

Elon had their three-game winning streak come to an end last Thursday when Missouri was able to beat them 78-73. The Phoenix did have 19 offensive rebounds in that loss, but they only made 35.8 percent of their shots.

Through their first nine games of the season, Elon's offense is in the top 40 in scoring by averaging nearly 80 points per game. Sophomore guard Luke Eddy has been able to score a team-high 13.6 points per game while making 54.5 percent of his shots. Junior guard Tanner Samson is averaging 13.3 points per game and is tied for the team lead with 5.2 rebounds per game.

Duke kept their perfect record intact last Wednesday by defeating the second-ranked Wisconsin Badgers 80-70 on the road. Their offense was excellent in that win, making over 65 percent of their shot.

So far this year, the Blue Devils are in the top 10 in the nation in scoring, assists per game and field goal percentage. Top prospect Jahlil Okafor has had a great start to his freshman year by averaging 17.1 points per game while also pulling down nearly eight rebounds per game.
