On Sunday, the East Carolina Pirates will be going on the road to face the high-scoring offense of the #12 North Carolina Tar Heels, who have won five of their first seven games this season.

East Carolina had a hard time making their shots in their game against Florida Atlantic on Wednesday night, eventually losing 72-63 on the road. They did have a 55-26 rebounding advantage in that loss, but they also only made 38.8 percent of their shots.

The Pirates have had no problems scoring this season, but their defense has allowed their opponents to average 67.4 points per game against them. Their top scorer right now is freshman guard B.J. Tyson, who is averaging 16 points and 4.6 rebounds per game through eight games.

UNC had their two-game winning streak snapped on Wednesday when Iowa was able to beat them 60-55 in North Carolina. The Tar Heels simply could not make their shots in that loss, finishing with just a 27.9 percent field goal percentage.

The Tar Heels have one of the top blocking teams in the country right now by averaging 6.3 blocks per game. Their top all-around player has been sophomore forward Kennedy Meeks, who is now averaging 14 points and a team-high 10 rebounds per game. Junior guard Marcus Paige has scored a team-best 14.9 points per game while dishing out three assists per game.
