The 7 seed Connecticut Huskies (26-8, 12-6 AAC) take on the 10 seed St. Joseph's Hawks (24-9, 11-5 A10) in Buffalo on Thursday. This should be an interesting and close matchup altogether. The Hawks won their first Atlantic Division title in 17 years (1997) and it will be their first appearance in the tournament since 2008. The Huskies were unable to take an AAC Tournament title home this year, suffering a loss to the Louisville Cardinals.

Both teams are well-rounded but the Huskies have some of the best players in their league. Ryan Boatright is an all-around force up and down the court and Shabazz Napier is not much different. Napier is arguably is the best player in the league and was presented the AAC player of the year award. Napier averages 17.4 points and Boatright averages 11.8. DeAndre Daniels averages 12.5 pts a game and he put up 17 points and 10 boards in the loss against Louisville, a performance that he will try to duplicate in the attempt to bring down the Hawks.

The Hawks can be just as much as a force as the Huskies. They have depth and are very versatile. Their defense forces turnovers and their offense can put points on the board. If leading scorers Langston Galloway, who averages 17.5 points, and Ronald Roberts Jr. can get hot, the Huskies will have their hands full. It might be a game that goes right down to the wire with every possession being crucial.
