On Wednesday night, the Columbia Lions will try to pull off one of their biggest upsets when they play the #1 Kentucky Wildcats. Columbia are currently 1-1 on the road, while the Wildcats have won all eight of their home games.

Columbia picked up their fifth win of the season last Saturday when they were able to blow out Bucknell 62-39 at home. Their defense was excellent in that win, holding Bucknell to a 28.3 field goal percentage.

Columbia's offense has struggled to score this season, averaging just 59 points per game against their opponents. Their go-to player this season has been junior guard Maodo Lo, who has averaged 16.1 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.7 steals per game. Senior center Cory Osetkowski has been able to score 8.9 points per game while pulling down a team-high 8.1 boards per game.

This past Sunday, Kentucky was able to keep their perfect record intact by blowing out Eastern Kentucky 82-49 at home. They did turn the ball over 17 times in that game, but they made up for it by making 56.9 percent of their shots.

Through their first nine games, the Wildcats have been able to average 77.6 points per game while making 47.7 percent of their shots. Freshman forward Karl-Anthony Towns has averaged 9.4 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.8 blocks per game so far this season.
