The 12/5 matchup in the NCAA Tournament is very fragile and NCAA experts believe Cincinnati may be in trouble when they take on the Harvard Crimson at 1:10 ET on Thursday. The Bearcats have struggled down the stretch losing three of their final 6 games and nobody is more familiar with the art of the 1st round upset than Harvard, who upset New Mexico in last year's big dance.
Cincinnati (27-6) has an unquestioned leader in Wooden Award Finalist Sean Kilpatrick. The 6'4” guard from Yonkers is the type of player that can put a team on his back in a tournament and ride stellar play to a Final Four or even championship birth. Kilpatrick shot only 5-15 in an American Conference loss to Uconn but had scored 21 or more points in 7 of 8 games prior. The main man down low for the Bearcats is Justin Jackson, who leads Cincinnati in rebounds, FG%, steals, and blocks.
Harvard (26-4) is only a 3 point underdog after their second straight 20+ win season. Coach Tommy Amaker has instilled a confidence that has the Crimson on an 8 game winning streak entering the tourney. 6'5” guard Wesley Saunders leads a Harvard team that is no longer a Cinderella, but instead a sleeping giant.
