On Tuesday night, the Charlotte 49ers will attempt to pull off an upset when they face the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Last season, the Yellow Jackets were able to edge the 49ers 58-55 on the road.

Charlotte had their two-game winning streak snapped last Saturday when they were defeated 81-78 by Georgetown on the road. They played pretty well on both ends of the court in that loss, but they did ended up being outrebounded 43-32.

Through their first 11 games, the 49ers have scored 76.5 points per game, but they are also allowing their opponents to average 76.2 points per game against them. Junior center Mike Thorne Jr. has been their best all-around player this year by averaging 10.7 points and a team-best 7.6 rebounds per game.

Last Tuesday, Georgia Tech had a poor second half against Dayton on the road and ended up losing 75-61. They had 14 turnovers in that game and were only able to make 39.7 percent of their shot attempts.

So far this season, the Yellow Jackets have played well on the defensive end of the court, giving up just 62.2 points per game. Forward Charles Mitchell is averaging 10.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game this season while making 52.8 percent of his shots. Junior forward Marcus Georges-Hunt currently leads the team in scoring with 11.8 points per game.
