The Central Michigan Chippewas will travel to Evanston, Illinois on Wednesday night to take on the Northwestern Wildcats. Central Michigan, out of the MAC, comes in with a 6-1 record, but have lost their only road game so far. Central Michigan is coming off a blow-out win at home over Southern Illinois-Edwardsville.

Northwestern is 6-3 overall and 4-1 in home games on the young season. After losing three straight, the Wildcats beat Mississippi Valley State 101-49 on December 14th.

Northwestern’s Alex Olah is scoring 11.6 points per game. Olah scored 17 in the most recent win. The Wildcats’ three losses came to Northern Iowa, Georgia Tech and Butler. Before that, the Wildcats had beaten their first five opponents, including an overtime win over Elon, by an average of 6 points per game. Northwestern will start their Big Ten season on December 30th at the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.

The Central Michigan Chippewas are one of two teams in the MAC with just a single loss on the season. The Chippewas are scoring 82.6 points per game, which ranks 15th in the country. Central Michigan’s leading scorer has been Chris Fowler with just shy of 15 per game. In the win over SIU-E, Braylon Rayson scored a season high 19 points. The Chippewas are seeking their fifth NCAA tournament appearance.
