Sunday afternoon, the Central Connecticut State Blue Devils will face the UConn Huskies.

The Central Connecticut State Blue Devils dropped their 2^nd straight game back on December 22^nd as they fell to the Brown Bears 67 - 55. The Blue Devils fell behind early but it was still a close game in the opening minutes. The Bears opened things up midway through the half and they took a 36 - 21 lead into the locker rooms at the half. Brown maintained their double digit lead the rest of the way as the Blue Devils missed shots that would have gotten them back into the game. Central Connecticut State shot just 32% as they were led by Matt Mobley and his 22 points. Even though the defending champion Huskies haven't been spectacular this season, the Blue Devils will have a hard time handling them.

The UConn Huskies took their record above .500 on December 22^nd after they beat the Columbia Lions 80 - 65. Even though the Huskies opened up things with a 9 - 0 run, Columbia quickly came back to briefly overtake UConn. The Huskies fought back to take just a 39 -36 lead at the half after a Ryan Boatright 3-pointer. The Lions didn't go away in the 2^nd half and it took a late surge by the Huskies to seal the victory. UConn was led by Rodney Purvis and his 21 point effort as the Huskies shot 57% from the field and 56% percent from 3-point distance. If the 3-ponters drop as easily on Sunday, the Huskies will have no problem beating the Blue Devils but consistency has been hard to find for UConn this season.
