When the Arizona Wildcats met up with the Oregon State Beavers on Feb. 9 of this year, the Wildcats put up a great team performance. Led by Aaron Gordon, Arizona handled Oregon State 76-54. Gordon finished the game with 17 points, five rebounds, one assist, a steal and a block. Gordon wasn't the only Wildcat proving to be a thorn in the side of the Beavers. Rondae Hollis Jefferson added 16 points while T.J. McConnell added 11 points, six rebounds and six assists.
Oregon State was unable to make any sort of comeback on this night. Angus Brandt tried to spark the team with 14 points and four rebounds but it wasn't enough to get past the number two ranked Wildcats. The Beavers were beaten in almost every team category. They were out rebounded by 15, had four less assists, and had four more turnovers. However, the stat that really stood out was the difference in field goal percentage. The Wildcats shot a blistering 50 percent from the field and that proved to be too much for the Beavers to handle.
That being said, Oregon State plays well at home and this time around the Beavers will be looking to exact some revenge on the Wildcats. With tournament hopes dashed for this season, Oregon State would love to take Arizona down a notch and add a signature win for this season.
Arizona has won four straight against Oregon State. However, they are 4-6 against the spread when playing Oregon State the last 10 times they've met. In addition, over the same 10 game span, the Wildcats didn't cover once when playing at Gill Coliseum. Both teams are 5-5 ATS over their last 10 games. The Wildcats have covered in five of their last six while the Beavers have covered in two straight. The Beavers are tough at home and have played well ATS when they play in Corvallis.
