The Alabama State Hornets will have their first big road test of the year when they face the Arkansas Razorbacks on Sunday.
Alabama State's offense was in great form on Friday when they blew out Auburn Montgomery 105-64 in their first game of the season. They had a 52-29 rebounding advantage in that win, and they made 10 of their 23 three-point attempts. Their defense also did well in the game, holding Auburn Montgomery to a 37.5 percent field goal percentage.
Hornets guard DeMarcus Robinson made five of his eight three-pointers in the win and finished with a game-high 23 points. Guard Bobby Brown had 14 points and eight rebounds in that game, while senior forward Brandon Graham came off of the bench to contribute 15 points and nine rebounds, including four on the offensive end.
Last season, Arkansas went 10-8 in the SEC and finished with a 22-12 overall record. A strong finish to the season helped them reach the NIT tournament, where they lost 75-64 in the second round to California.
The Razorbacks were 17th in the country in scoring last season by averaging 80.3 points per game. Guard Rashad Madden, who led the team in scoring with 12.7 points per game, will be Arkansas' key man again this year. Freshman guard Anton Beard was their top recruit in the offseason and should see plenty of game time.
