Sunday afternoon, the Air Force Falcons will face the Texas Tech Red Raiders.

The Air Force Falcons took their first loss of the season as they fell to the Colorado Buffaloes 68 – 53 on Tuesday night.  The Falcons jumped out to a 5 -0 lead in the 1st half and at one point were up 10 -6 on the Buffaloes.  But the Buffaloes quickly tied it up and eventually went on a 25 - 0 run to effectively put the game out of reach for the Falcons. Air Force broke the run by hitting a three-pointer but they scored just 2 more points after that and were down 37 - 15 at the half.  In the 2nd half, the lead was just too great for Air Force to surmount.  The Falcons shot just 32% from the field and just 20% from beyond the arc as they were led by Matt Mooney and Trevor Lyons and their 10 point nights.  If the Falcons are to have any chance against the Red Raiders, it will have to come behind better shooting and better defense.

The Texas Tech Red Raiders squandered a solid lead in their last game on Tuesday night and had to hold on to beat the Northwestern State Demons 75 - 64.  The Red Raiders brushed aside some early pressure from the Demons and they steadily built a nice lead through most of the 1st half.  But sloppiness by the Red Raiders let the Demons cut an 18 point lead in half by the time the teams went to the locker room at the half.  Northwestern State continued to press Texas Tech to open the 2nd half but the Red Raiders regained their form to pull away for good and secure the win.  The Red Raiders shot 48% overall and 46% from 3-point territory as they were paced by Robert turner and his 13 points.  The Red Raiders will have to keep the mistakes to a minimum if they want to pick up another victory.
