On Friday, the Washington Wizards will be going on the road to take on the Oklahoma City Thunder in a game between two of the best defenses in the NBA. During the 2013-14 season, the Wizards and the Thunder split their two-game series.

The Wizards ended their hot month of December on a low note when the Dallas Mavericks crushed them 114-87 on the road. The Wizards did not take care of the ball in that loss, finishing the game with 22 team turnovers.

The Wizards have barely been able to average over 100 points per game this season, but their defense has held opposing offenses to just 97.4 points per game. John Wall is once again one of the top points guards in the NBA by averaging 17.4 points, 10.3 assists and 2.1 steals per game. Center Marcin Gortat is the team's top rebounder by grabbing 8.2 boards per game.

On Wednesday night, the Thunder were in a shootout with the Phoenix Suns that they eventually won 137-134 in overtime. The Thunder did very well n the boards in that win, outrebounding the Suns 50-39.

Through 33 games this season, the Thunder have one of the top defensive teams in the Western Conference and they are in the top three in rebounding. Power forward Serge Ibaka has scored 14.8 points per game this year while pulling down 7.3 rebounds per game.
