The Memphis Grizzlies will be going for their third consecutive win on Friday night when they face the Los Angeles Lakers. The Grizzlies have already one their first two games against the Lakers this season.

On Tuesday, the Grizzlies won their second straight game when they defeated the San Antonio Spurs 95-87 at home. They did have 20 turnovers in that win, but they made up for it by making nearly 50 percent of their shots.

Through 31 games this season, the Grizzlies have one of the top five defenses in the NBA by giving up just 97.2 points per game. Center Marc Gasol is one of three players on Memphis with a PER over 20 by averaging 20.1 points, 8.3 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game. Power forward Zach Randolph currently leads the team in rebounding with 11.4 per game.

The Lakers were able to snap their three-game losing streak on Tuesday night by defeating the Denver Nuggets 111-103 on the road. They shot very well from three-point range in that win, going 14-for-25 from beyond the arc.

The Lakers have had the worst defense in the whole league this season by allowing their opponents to average 109 points per game against them. In his first season in Los Angeles, veteran power forward Carlos Boozer has been able to average 13.2 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.
