The Golden State Warriors take on the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday in Game 3 of the NBA Finals. The series is tied 1-1. The opening line had the Cavs as 2.5 point favorites and the over/under is set at 194.
Sunday's Game 2 was a classic just like Game 1. It required overtime once again but unlike in Game 1, the Cavs came out on top 95-93 in an ugly slugfest between the two teams. Lebron James finished with 39 points, 16 rebounds and 11 assists in 50 minutes, carrying the Cavs on the road. The Warriors had been 47-3 at Oracle Arena. The overtime was 8-6 in favor of Cleveland, as they stole an important game on the road before heading back to their home floor. "I tried to give it all to my teammates. And they do a great job of giving it back to me. Total team effort," said James, who shot 11-of-35 from the floor and seemed to wear down as the game dragged on. "To be back in the same position we were in three days ago and to come back and even the series is big time." Timofey Mozgov finished with 17 points and 11 rebounds for the Cavs, helping the void left by the Kyrie Irving injury. Matthew Dellavedova had a scrappy game for Cleveland as well, finishing with the game clinching free throws in overtime.
Stephen Curry had one of the worst shooting performances of his entire career, finishing with 19 points on 5 of 23 from the floor. That included 2 for 15 from 3 point range and 6 turnovers. "Shots I normally make I knew as soon as they left my hand that they were off. That doesn't usually happen," Curry said. "Mechanically, I don't know if there is an explanation for it. Just didn't have a rhythm and didn't find one the whole game." Klay Thompson had a great game for Golden State, finishing with 34 points and 5 rebounds in the losing effort.
