On Monday night, the Denver Nuggets will be facing the Minnesota Timberwolves in an early season Northwest Division matchup. Two weeks ago, the Nuggets were able to beat the Timberwolves 106-102 at home.

The Nuggets were able to snap their three-game losing skid by blowing out the Memphis Grizzlies 114-85 on Saturday night. They had a big rebounding advantage in that win and were able to make 51.9 percent of their shot attempts.

So far this season, the Nuggets have been one of the top rebounding teams in the NBA, but they are giving up nearly 105 points per game. Shooting guard Arron Afflalo is averaging 14.7 points and 3.4 rebounds per game while only turning the ball over 1.4 times per game. Their top rebounder is power forward Kenneth Faried, who is averaging 8.5 boards per game.

On Saturday night, the Timberwolves lost their 11th consecutive game when the Utah Jazz came into town and beat them 101-89 in Minnesota. They shot under 40 percent from the field in that loss and were outrebounded 47-37.

Through 32 games this season, the Wolves are in the bottom half of the Western Conference in both rebounding and points allowed per game. Rookie shooting guard Andrew Wiggins has scored 13.8 points per game this season while making 38 percent of his three-pointers. Veteran Thaddeus Young has been one of their top scorers by averaging 13.9 points per game.
