The Golden State Warriors kick off an extended six-game road trip through the Eastern Conference this Monday night with a stop at the Palace of Auburn Hills to face the Detroit Pistons. This game is scheduled to tip off at 7:30 p.m. (ET), and it will be available on NBA League Pass.
The Warriors come into this road trip with a three-game winning streak and a 7-3 straight up record in their last 10 games after knocking off Brooklyn 93-86 on Saturday night as five-point favorites at home. They have covered against the spread in five of their last seven contests to improve to 26-28-2 ATS on the year. The total has stayed “under” in four of their last five games.
Detroit remains 3.5 games in back of the Nets for the eighth and final playoff spot in the East after dropping a 113-102 decision to Dallas as a three-point home underdog on Saturday night as well. The Pistons are now 1-4 both SU and ATS in their last five games, and the total has gone “over” in eight of their last nine outings.
Golden State vs. Detroit Betting Storylines
Golden State is currently tied with Phoenix for the sixth playoff spot in the West Conference with an overall record of 34-22 SU, and it has played pretty good on the road this season at 16-12 (14-13-1 ATS). It has been able to hang tough without Andrew Bogut in the lineup for the past seven games with a shoulder injury. The Warriors’ leader in rebounds (10.7) and blocks (1.9) remains doubtful for Monday night, but Jermaine O’Neal has picked up the slack, especially in the win over the Nets where he pulled-down a game-high 13 rebounds.
Stephen Curry is still the leader in the scoring department with 24.3 points per game, and he is also dishing out a team-high 8.9 assists. He is shooting 46.4 percent from the field and 42.1 percent from 3-point range. The Warriors are averaging 103.3 PPG, which is ranked 10th in the NBA, and holding teams to 98.6 points, which is the eighth-best total in the league. Steve Blake, who recently came over from the Lakers in a trade, added six points and five assists in Saturday night’s win.
The Pistons have fallen off the pace in the playoff race in the East with a 4-6 SU record in their last 10 games. They are now 10 games below .500 on the year at 23-33 SU, and their overall record ATS is 25-31. They are just 13-18 ATS at home this season, and the total has gone over in 23 of the 31 game played at the Palace. One of the main reasons the over on the total line has been such a solid play is a defense that is ranked 25th in the league in points allowed (103.2). Things have actually gotten worse after allowing 107 points or more in six of its last nine games.
When it comes to scoring points, Brandon Jennings has led the way with 17.4 points, but Josh Smith is a close second with 16.2 PPG. The Pistons have a total of five players scoring in double-figures as part of their 100.7 PPG, and they are shooting 45 percent from the field and 31.2 percent from 3-point range. Detroit has done a good job controlling the boards with an average of 45 rebounds a game.

You cannot go wrong with a play on the Warriors laying the points on the road given the current form of both teams, but everything points towards another high-scoring game that should easily go over the total line.
