The No. 1 seed Indiana Pacers may have had the best record in the Eastern Conference this season, but they had a much tougher time reaching the second round than the No. 5 seed Washington Wizards did.

The Pacers were on the brink of elimination twice against the No. 8 seed Atlanta Hawks, but they found a way to win Game 6 and Game 7 to move on. They were able to reach the second round thanks to a dominant 92-80 home win in Game 7 on Saturday.

The Pacers' top player in the first round was All-Star Paul George, who averaged 22.8 points, 10.7 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game. Shooting guard Lance Stephenson also played well in the series by averaging 14.8 points and eight rebounds.

The Wizards were excellent on both ends of the floor in their first round series against the No. 4 seed Chicago Bulls and ended up needing just five games to advance. In Game 5, they used the Bulls' strategy against them by playing sound defense and won the low-scoring affair 75-69.

Bradley Beal did not play like it was his first experience in the playoffs, and he ended up averaging 19.8 points and 4.6 rebounds in the five games. Point guard John Wall averaged 18.8 points, 6.8 assists and 2.2 steals per game in the series, while Nene Hilario averaged 17.8 points and 6.5 boards.
