The Washington Wizards were able to come back from a 13-point deficit to beat the Chicago Bulls 102-93 in Game 1 of their Eastern Conference quarterfinal matchup. Washington's star backcourt of John Wall and Bradley Beal didn't play particularly well, but the Wizards' bigs stepped up and led their team to victory.

After a close first quarter that saw the Wizards take a 24-22 lead, the Bulls were able to play one of their best offensive quarters of the season and went into the half up by six points. The Bulls made their shots early in the third period to go up by 13, but from that point on the Wizards were able to nip at the lead before taking over midway through the fourth.

Washington power forward Nene, who dealt with multiple injuries this season, was the game's best player and ended up with a game-high 24 points on 11-of-17 shooting. Washington's other starting big, Marcin Gortat, dominated the paint and finished with 13 rebounds to go along with his 15 points. Wall finished with 16 points and six rebounds, while Beal had 13 points and seven assists in the duo's first playoff appearances.

Chicago's Joakim Noah had 10 points and 10 rebounds, but he didn't look quite as dominant as he did in most of the team's regular season games. Point guard D.J. Augustin scored 16 off the bench for the Bulls, but he made just three of his 15 field goal attempts.
