The Sacramento Kings were looking to break a seven game losing streak coming into San Antonio when these two teams last played. The Spurs were on a three game losing streak, but they were also staring down their annual “Rodeo Road Trip” that puts them on the road for about a month. If anyone needed some confidence and a change of pace it was the Spurs and they found it. It was an ugly game, but they took the win giving the Kings one more loss to add to their skid. The game ended a horrible last three games for the Spurs that was plagued by injuries.

Tim Duncan had 23 points and 17 rebounds, and Tony Parker came through with 18 points and 10 assists to help San Antonio along in a scrappy win 95-93. Sacramento got help from Isaiah Thomas, who had 26 points, Derrick Williams put up 14, and Rudy Gay scored 23 points. Gay had 22 points while being guarded mostly by Marco Benlinelli, but when the fourth quarter hit, he would find 6-foot-8 Boris Diaw guarding him and was held to just one point the whole quarter. Gay also missed a potential game winner when he shot a 15-footer over Diaw with 0.5 seconds remaining.

After being outplayed by Gay and Thomas for much of the game, the veteran Spurs took over down the stretch to end their longest losing streak of the season. Diaw added 14 points for San Antonio and Patty Mills scored 15 points in the win.
