The San Antonio Spurs were able to take a 2-0 lead in their series with the Portland Trail Blazers by beating them 114-97 in Game 2 on Thursday night. The Spurs made 12 of their 20 three-pointers in the game and shot 53% from the floor overall.

It was a close game in the first quarter, but the Spurs were able to outscore the Nets 41-25 in the second period and took a 19-point lead into the half. New Jersey played a bit better in the second half, but the Spurs never led by less than eight points down the stretch.

Kawhi Leonard was about as efficient as he could be for the Spurs by making eight of his nine field goal attempts and finishing with 20 points, five rebounds, two steals and two blocks in the win. Center Tiago Splitter ended up with a double-double for San Antonio by scoring 10 points and grabbing 10 boards. Manu Ginobili came off of the bench for the Spurs to score 16 points and grab five rebounds.

Trail Blazers All-Star LaMarcus Aldridge just couldn't find his shooting stroke in the game and made just six of his 23 shots for 16 points and 10 rebounds. Point guard Damian Lillard had 19 points, five rebounds and five assists for the visitors, while Nicolas Batum added 21 points and nine rebounds in the losing effort.
