The defending NBA Champion San Antonio Spurs will face the Phoenix Suns on Friday night.

The Spurs are coming off a win against the Dallas Mavericks. The Spurs started slow in this one but really stepped it up in the second half with Tony Parker leading the way with 23 points. Tim Duncan pitched in and pulled down 13 rebounds. As a team, the Spurs shot over 50% for the night. They also shared the ball well and ended up 23 assists as a team.

The Suns like to look for the fast break on offense. They ran a 12-man rotation against the Lakers to keep their energy level high and the Lakers on their toes. Phoenix, like San Antonio, was over 50% from the field in their matchup. Isaiah Thomas led the team in scoring coming off the bench with 23 points. He was 9 for 11 from the field and 5 for 7 from behind the arc. The result was a 20-point victory over the Lakers. The Suns will likely test the Spurs conditioning by keeping a fast pace and the Spurs will try to counter by moving the ball in a half court offense and getting quality shots. If the Spurs shoot a high percentage it will be difficult for the Suns to effectively run the fast break offense.
