The San Antonio Spurs were able to beat the Miami Heat 111-92 in Game 3 of the NBA Finals to take a 2-1 lead in the series. The Spurs shot nearly 60 percent from the field in the win and were able to force the Heat into turning the ball over 20 times on the night.

San Antonio had their best quarter in the first period when they were able to outscore the Heat 41-25. The Spurs extended their lead to 21 points gong into the half, but the Heat did get the deficit down to 11 points going into the final period. The closest Miami would get to the Spurs in the fourth quarter was 7 points before San Antonio took over again down the stretch.

Spurs small forward Kawhi Leonard stepped up and had his best game of the playoffs so far by scoring a game-high 29 points on 10-of-13 shooting, and he also contributed two steals and two blocks in the win. Shooting guard Danny Green had 15 points and five steals for the visitors, while Tim Duncan added 14 points and six rebounds.

Heat superstar LeBron James made nine of his 14 shots and finished with 22 points, seven assists, five rebounds and five steals in the losing effort. Shooting guard Dwyane Wade had 22 points for the hosts, but he also turned the ball over five times. Ray Allen made two three-pointers off of the bench and ended up scoring 11 points.
