The San Antonio Spurs will try to get back on the winning track when they go up against the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday night. Last season, the Spurs seemed to enjoy facing the Grizzlies, sweeping their four-game regular season series.

In their last game, the Spurs had their eight-game winning streak snapped when the Brooklyn Nets beat them 95-93 in overtime. San Antonio only had eight turnovers in that loss, but they also shot just 35.6 percent from the field.

The Spurs only averaging 99.6 points per game through 18 games, but they have also only given up 93.2 points per game. Small forward Kawhi Leonard has had a good start to the season by scoring 14.9 points per game while also grabbing eight rebounds per game.

The Grizzlies had their long winning streak come to an end on Wednesday when the Houston Rockets beat them 105-96 on the road. They shot the ball very well in that game, but they also ended up with 20 turnovers.

So far this year, the Grizzlies have been one of the top three defenses in the NBA by only allowing opposing offenses to score 93.1 points per game against them. Center Marc Gasol has a team-high 22.9 PER by averaging 19.4 points, eight rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game for Memphis. Point guard Mike Conley has scored 16.2 points per game and leads the team with 6.3 assists per game.
