The San Antonio Spurs have the best record in the NBA, but they remained winless in three games against the Houston Rockets this season when Houston was able to take the 97-90 home win back in late January. In not scoring 100 or more points, San Antonio broke a streak of 15 games where they were able to cross the century mark.

The Spurs had a rare off night from three-point land as they were only able to make six of their 23 shots from beyond the arc. Houston's big quarter of the game came in the third when they were able to outscore San Antonio 33-18 before hanging on for the seven-point win.

Rockets center Dwight Howard only made 13 of his 25 free throw attempts, but he did have 16 rebounds to go along with his 23 points in the win. Point guard Jeremy Lin contributed 18 points and eight assists for Houston, while Terrence Jones put up 21 points and nine rebounds for the home team.

One of the reasons why the Spurs couldn't get a win in this one was that they got very little from their bench, who put up a total of 20 points in the game. Boris Diaw was the team's top point producer in the loss, scoring 22 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Tim Duncan also had a double-double for the Spurs by scoring 12 points, grabbing 14 boards and blocking four shots in the losing effort.
