In the third game of a four-game season series, the San Antonio Spurs were able to beat the Dallas Mavericks 112-106 to improve their NBA-best record to 43-16 at the time. It was the first game since the early stages of the season that the Spurs had all of their regular starters healthy at the same time.

The game was pretty even in most statistical categories, but one area where the Spurs dominated was at the free throw line. The Mavs fouled the Spurs 23 times while they were fouled just 14 times. This resulted in San Antonio making 24 of their 28 free throw attempts in the game, which gave them the scoring advantage that they needed to get the win.

The game was very close in the first half, with the Spurs taking a slim one-point lead into the locker room. They were able to extend their lead to eight in the third quarter and did enough to hold off the Mavericks late in the game.

Tony Parker returned to action for the Spurs to score 22 points and added seven assists in the win. Veteran power forward Boris Diaw came off of the bench for San Antonio to add 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Dirk Nowitzki led the Mavs in scoring for the game, scoring 22 points and also bringing down seven rebounds. Vince Carter scored 21 off of the bench.
