On Monday night, the Sacramento Kings will try to pick up their second home win in as many tries when they face the Denver Nuggets. Both teams are currently in the top ten in the league in points against.
During the 2013-14 season, the Kings were able to beat the Nuggets in two out of their three meetings. Denver won their midseason matchup 125-117 in Sacramento, but the Kings won their last game against each other 109-95 on the road.
Kings small forward Rudy Gay has faced the Nuggets 25 times in his career and has averaged 18.4 points and 5.4 rebounds per game against them. Center DeMarcus Cousins has averaged 16.6 points, 8.7 boards and 2.5 assists in his 13 games against Denver.
The Nuggets had a hard time making their shots on Saturday and ended up losing to the Oklahoma City Thunder 102-91. They only shot 43.8 percent from the field in that loss while turning the ball over 18 times. They also couldn't make their three-pointers in that game, going just 7-for-26 from beyond the arc.
Denver is currently sixth in the NBA in scoring with 46 boards per game, and they are third in points allowed with just 90.5 points given up per game. Power forward Kenneth Faried has been excellent through two games, averaging 14.5 points, 11.5 rebounds and two assists per game. Guard Ty Lawson has averaged 14 points and a team-high five assists per game.
