The Sacramento Kings blew out the Brooklyn Nets when they last faced each other in Nov. of 2013. At this point of the season, the Kings had been playing with a lack of effort and energy. Kings coach Michael Malone decided to make some changes in the starting lineup and it proved to be the right move. Marcus Thornton scored a season high 24 points and added four rebounds, two assists and a steal. Greivis Vasquez also had a fantastic game with 17 points, four rebounds, and 12 assists, while Isaiah Thomas added 19 points and six assists.
The Kings dominated most of this game and had as much as a 23 point lead late in the third quarter before stopping a run by Brooklyn.
The Kings shot 43.6 percent and had a total of seven turnovers in the game.
At this point in the season, Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce's winning ways had yet to infiltrate the psyche of this Brooklyn Nets team. Brook Lopez led the Nets with 16 points, nine rebounds and five blocks. Also contributing in this game was Deron Williams with 13 points and seven assists, and Paul Pierce with 12 points and nine rebounds.
This game didn't go well for the Nets but over the last 10 head-to-head matchups between Brooklyn and Sacramento, the Nets are 7-3 straight up and have won against the spread seven times out of 10. The 'over' is 5-5 in this matchup over the same period of time.
Sacramento is covering in less than 50 percent of their games over the last month.
