The Portland Trailblazers and the Houston Rockets played the best game of the first round so far, with the Blazers eventually coming out on top 122-120 in overtime. LaMarcus Aldridge chose the right time to have the best game of his career by scoring 46 points, which is a career-high for him and a playoff record for the Portland franchise.

Portland got off to a good start and led 27-20 after one period, but the Rockets were able to come back and led by one going into the locker rooms at halftime. Houston kept control of the game in the third period and took a six-point lead into the fourth quarter. They then had a 13-point lead with 10 minutes left in the period, but the Blazers, led by Aldridge, were able to force overtime. Blazers point guard Damian Lillard was able to make late free throws in the extra period to get get the road win for Portland.

Aldridge, who fouled out in the overtime period, finished with 18 rebounds to go along with his 46 points. Lillard also had a great game, scoring 31 points, grabbing nine rebounds, and dishing out five assists in the win.

James Harden scored 27 points for Houston, but he made just eight of his 28 shots in the game. Center Dwight Howard had 27 points, 15 rebounds and four blocks in the losing effort.
