The No. 5 seed Portland Trailblazers were able to take a 3-1 series lead over the No. 4 seed Houston Rockets by beating them 123-120 in overtime in Game 4 of their series. The Trailblazers had more assists, steals and blocks and committed fewer turnovers on their way to a solid team victory.

The Rockets outplayed Portland in the first half and ended up with a 10-point lead going into the locker room. The Blazers upped their play in the second half, though, and after coming back to tie the game, they were able to play tight defense to force overtime. It was close in the extra period, but Portland made their free throws late in overtime to hold on for the win.

Portland All-Star LaMarcus Aldridge once again led the way for his team by scoring 29 points on 12-of-23 shooting, and also grabbing 10 rebounds and blocking four shots in the win. Nicolas Batum finished with 25 points, six rebounds and six assists for the Trailblazers, while point guard Damian Lillard had 23 points and eight assists for the hosts.

Dwight Howard had a good game for the Rockets in the losing effort by scoring 25 points, grabbing 14 rebounds and blocking two shots. James Harden scored a team-high 28 points for Houston, but he made just 3 of his 11 three-point attempts and was 9-for-21 overall. Chandler Parsons was 4-for-6 from three-point land and finished with 26 points and eight rebounds.
