The Sacramento Kings will host the Portland Trail Blazers tonight in both teams’ second game of the 2014 – 2015 NBA season. Portland is coming off a nice opening night win over the Oklahoma City Thunder. Led by LaMarcus Aldridge with 27 points, the blazers were able to hold off Russel Westbrook and the Thunder by a final score of 106-89. Robin Lopez provided second chance opportunities for his Portland teammates by grabbing 7 offensive rebounds. The team shot 43% overall.

The Blazers are looking for more production out of their bench going forward. Steve Blake and C.J. McCollum logged 36 minutes combined. However, they made only 1 of 8 attempts from the field and 0 of 5 attempts from deep.

Sacramento’s first game of the season against the Warriors ended in an 18-point loss. The Kings struggled from the field shooting only 30-percent. Another statistic they’d like to forget about was the 3-of-18 shooting from behind the arc. On a positive note, the Kings were able to make it to the free throw line early and often. DeMarcus Cousins had a good night from the charity stripe going 12-of-18 attempts. Few big-men are able to shoot close to 70% at the foul line.

Defensively, Sacramento was very active collecting 11 steals and forcing an additional 11 turnovers. Unfortunately their defensive efforts were nullified by their own 26 turnovers.
