The Portland Trail Blazers may be much better than the Los Angeles Lakers this season, but the Lakers were able to pull off the 107-106 away win the last time these two teams squared off. The Lakers were able to build a big first quarter lead and then hold off the charging Blazers for the rest of the game to snap Portland's five game winning streak.

The Lakers maxed out their lead in the first quarter by getting a 15-point cushion, and ended the quarter with a 33-20 lead over the Blazers. Portland was able to chip into that lead, though, and were down by just seven points going into the half. The game was close from there on out, but Wesley Johnson was able to hit the game winner for Los Angeles with about seven seconds left remaining in the fourth quarter.

Pau Gasol led the Lakers in this one, scoring 22 points, grabbing nine rebounds and also adding five assists in the win. Johnson finished the game with 14 points, seven rebounds, two steals and two blocks. Point guard Kendall Marshall added 11 assists and six rebounds to go along with his seven points in the game.

The Blazers had big rebounding performances from Robin Lopez (16) and Nicolas Batum (15), while LaMarcus Aldridge was their top scorer with 21 points in the loss.
