On Saturday, the Portland Trail Blazers will be going for their third win in a row when they visit the Los Angeles Clippers. Portland was able to beat the Clippers in two out of their three meetings last season.

The Blazers put together four solid quarters against the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday and came away with a 108-87 home victory. They shot 51.9 percent from the floor in that win and they finished with a 53-34 rebounding advantage.

Through five games, the Blazers are third in the NBA in points allowed by only giving up 91.2 points per game. Power forward LaMarcus Aldridge has been their best player by averaging 22.2 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. Shooting guard Wesley Matthews has made 54.1 percent of his shots and is averaging 17.8 points per game.

On Wednesday night, the Clippers picked up their first road loss when they were beaten 121-104 by the Golden State Warriors. They did force 23 turnovers in that game, but the Warriors made 58.1 percent of their field goal attempts and all 20 of their free throws.

The Clippers are in the top 10 in the league in scoring right now by averaging 102.8 points per game. Their best player has been power forward Blake Griffin, who is averaging 24.8 points and 6.4 rebounds per game this season. Point guard Chris Paul has also been solid by averaging 15.6 points, 10.4 assists and 4.6 rebounds per game.
