Tuesday night, the Portland Trailblazers will make their way to the Palace at Auburn Hills to take on the Detroit Pistons. 

The Portland Trailblazers will come to Detroit after dispatching the New York Knicks on Sunday night.  The 103 - 99 victory was the 4th straight for Portland as they started a 5 game road trip in New York.   Portland nearly lost Sunday’s game after blowing a double-digit lead late but they recovered and managed to come away with the win and a possible lesson to look back on as the season progresses.   Right now, the Blazers lead the Northwest Division by a comfortable 7 games but they can’t afford to get complacent against the Pistons the way that they did against the Knicks.   Even though the Pistons are struggling, if the Blazers blow another lead late, they could end up on the losing end of the equation.

The Detroit Pistons haven’t looked that great in recent games and in a typical performance for them on Sunday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Pistons lost 96 - 94.  The defeat marked the 12th straight loss for the Pistons.  Detroit actually led after the 1st quarter and at the half in that game but they allowed Oklahoma City to get back in the game in the 2nd half and that was Detroit’s undoing. The Pistons will need to put together a complete game to even have a chance against the Trailblazers and that might be too much to ask for from this team right now.
